A different kind of lamp

We spent two years trying to develop a different kind of lamp: One that is both an excellent light source and does not feel like a copy of something already existing. One that is repairable and recyclable and disassembles without tools. One that we could produce completely on our own in Copenhagen. The result is Dash.

Dash is a 120 cm LED tube gripped by 16 3D-printed interlocking elements. When turned off, it’s a lightly undulating creamy white cylinder. When it turns on, its inner colours are revealed, and it shines non-blinding, white light downwards, and coloured, diffused light up and out.

Uniquely simple

The lamp’s main structural element is the LED tube itself. The shade directly grip the tube without any secondary structure or use of anything but friction. The whole lamp disassembles completely without the need for tools,1 and all parts are designed to be replaceable.

This patent-pending design, that eliminates many of the parts other lamps need, makes a uniquely slim and efficient construction weighing only 707 grams.2

Hangs from ceilings, mounts to walls, stands on floors

Ceiling-mounted, Dash offers direct, non-blinding, warm white3 light downwards and diffused coloured light in all other directions. With its length of 120 cm, it lights up the full length of a typical dining or work table.

Mounted on walls, it works vertically, horizontally, or at any other angle you may fancy.

Dash can also be placed as-is, standing directly on the floor, in a corner or against a wall, as a free-standing dash of light.4

Repairable and recyclable

Dash disassembles completely without the need for any tools, and all parts are designed to be replaceable. Every Dash comes with a three year complete guarantee5 plus lifetime affordable repairs and replacement parts. When the time comes, hoefully decades hence, Dash can be fully disassembled for recycling.6

The LED tube has an expected lifetime of 30.000 hours, equivalent to 4 hours a day every day for 20 years. As opposed to most other slim LED lights, when the LED tube eventually malfunctions, you can simply exchange it for a similar standard tube, or let us do it, renewing the lamp’s life with another two decades of daily use.7

(7) Let us do it: As of this writing (2025) the price for parts and labor is €50 + shipping. Do it yourself: Does take some patience, but is entirely doable. Follow instructions and exercise care to prevent parts breaking or imprecise assembly.

A color for every room

Dash comes in four different colors: Fire, Sodium Vapor, Flesh, and Corrections. When turned on, they each glow in their combination of nuances, while radiating direct, warm white light downwards. All are creamy white when turned off.
